Teen/Adult Modern: Mon 12–1 (I), Wed 12 – 1 (I)

Pilates Mat Exercises: Tues 12 – 1 (I), Thurs 12 – 1 (I)

Teen/Adult Beginning Ballet: Mon 5:30 – 6:30 (III)

Teen/Adult Intermediate Ballet: Mon 6 – 8 (III), Wed 5:45 – 7:15 (I)

Teen/Adult Beginning/Intermediate Jazz: Thurs 7:45 – 8:45 (I)

Teen/Adult Intermediate Modern: Wed 7:15 – 8:30 (I)

Teen/Adult Tap I (Beginning): Wed 6 – 7 (II)

Teen/Adult Tap II (Intermediate): Thurs 6:30 – 7:30 (II)

Dress: Adults wear comfortable clothing–loose, but not baggy or dragging–that permits movement. Instructors will recommend any shoes (ballet, tap, jazz) or accessories (Pilates) students may want to purchase.

Teen/Adult Division Instructors: Amanda Abrahamson, graduate of the School, company member since 1998, and teacher since 2002, coordinates the Creative Dance class for children with developmental challenges.

Ramona Treuer, a Duluth native, graduate of the Ballet’s school, and apprentice dancer for the company in the 1992–93 season, has been teaching for the Ballet since 1991. She has also danced with Shelter Repertory Dance Theatre and in Dances on the Lakewalk in both Duluth and at Lake Harriet.

Renee Moe Salyards, founder and Artistic Director of Sterling Dance, has been teaching and choreographing in Grand Marais for fifteen years and also teaches in Silver Bay. She has performed and presented works at Dances on the Lakewalk, at the Fringe Festival in Minneapolis, and elsewhere.

Lark Phillips, trained and performed tap and ballet in North Carolina, including performing with the Beale Fletcher Dance Troupe in the Carolina Tri-State Area. She also studied at the Nutmeg Conservatory in Connecticut; taught dance in a after-school program in Worchester, Massachusetts; and has taken master tap classes with Savion Glover.

Linda Carillo, teacher, School of the Minnesota Ballet, trained at the University of Utah, Ballet West in Salt Lake City, and the Joffrey Ballet in New York. She also performed and toured with the Royal Winnipeg Ballet. She trained in the Vaganova technique and is certified in the Cecchetti Method.

Elyse Snider, teacher, School of the Minnesota Ballet, holds a B.A. in acting and direction and a minor in dance from Barat College, Lake Forest, Illinois. She performed with the Chicago-area modern and jazz company 98.6 Degrees Fahrenheit Dance Company. In Madison, Wisconsin, she danced and taught for Kanope Dance Company and taught for the Movement in Your World program at the Madison Ballet.

Karen Zimmerman is a Registered Nurse with Master’s Degree in Exercise Physiology/Kinesiology. She is certified by the American College of Sports Medicine as an Exercise Specialist and is a Stott certified Pilates instructor.
