Northland celebs pair with Minnesota Ballet company dancers in this for-fun competition that has the whole Twin Ports speculating and the audience voting for the winning couple. Celebs rehearse for weeks their ballroom style from elegant waltz to flashy Broadway to jumpin’ jive. And while the votes are counted, the Minnesota Ballet presents a lively mini performance.

It was a special evening of fashions from Maurices—modeled by Minnesota Ballet dancers—plus hors d’oeuvres, champagne, and fun! Proceeds benefited the Minnesota Ballet.

We wore our best black or white duds, danced to the music of Peter Provost and His Trio, ate luscious food, strutted around in the parade of hats, and bid on for-fun auction items. Tenor Marcus McConico even rattled the balconies with a vibrant sample of the “Fill your Home with Song” auction item!

We kicked off The Nutcracker season with this wonderful afternoon of savoring desserts from The Exchange, bidding on beautiful ballet items and nutcracker decorations, and enjoying presentations by Creative Dance and Ballet III — VII students.

Many thanks to those who donated auction items, to the teachers who prepared the class presentations, and to the students who presented so beautifully.


All proceeds benefit financial aid to qualifying students
at the School of the Minnesota Ballet.
